Denise Ann Voss (nee Whittick)

September 10th, 1937 to December 3rd, 2015

My Beloved Wife, Denise Ann Voss, left my side on December 3rd, 2015 in Victoria BC. We shared a wonderful 58 years together. Denise is cherished and remembered by myself, our three children Shelley, Delle, and Murray, our grandchildren and our great grandchildren.

We raised Shelley, Delle and Murray with love and over the years they brought special people into our family.

Shelley and her husband Doug Rosentreter live in Edmonton along with their two children; their daughter Jordan and her husband Dave Tran with our great grandchildren Bennett William and Cora Denise, and their son Cole with his wife Pascaline and their dog Raspberry.

Delle and her husband Keith Vaughan live in Victoria and have three sons, Eddie, Gavin and Nick. Nick and his partner Chelsea have recently blessed our family with Greyson Allan, our third great grandchild.

Murray and his husband, Mark DeVoss, live in Victoria.

Denise loved her grandchildren in a very special, unconditional way and had a great impact on their lives. She even learnt how to text, just so she could regularly “stalk" each of them by phone to keep in touch and wish them 'Happy Sunday'. It was a given that Grannie loved to share a few "bucks" on the side or if they ever needed anything all they had to do was ask!!!

Denise has four surviving siblings Ray, Marietta, Doris and Ed; her favourite brother-in-law Bob Welbourn, sister-in-law Helen Fedec and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

Denise had an outstanding sense of style and fashion that she carried all through our life together. Whether Denise was out socializing, or at home, she was known for her sense of style. Denise found a love of quilting as a young mother and prided herself, with good reason, on her skill. She was also a natural at cooking and entertaining; she constantly sought-out new ideas and was always ahead of the curve.

Denise had a loveable whit, and an outrageous and caring personality. Many people over her life were drawn to her spirit and were deeply impacted by their friendship with her.

She had countless friends, one of her closest being Patricia Kronthaler. Denise also had a special bond with her long time quilting gals and they shared many projects and life stories together.

Lastly, my whole family and I would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to Denise’s Doctor Lora Morrice, her Naturopathic Doctor Marita Schauch, and Judy Wright (RN) from the Peninsula Health Unit. All three were incredibly supportive and honoured Denise’s journey through her beautiful life.

At Denise’s request, there will be a Celebration of her Life with her immediate family. In lieu of Flowers, please consider a donation to Victoria Hospice.

http://www.victoriahospice.org/

The care Denise received at the Royal Jubilee Hospice greatly exceeded anything the family could have hoped for.

So Dearie, we will always be together and I will always love you. I look forward to when we meet again on our next journey together.

With all my love forever,

Bill.
