December 22, 1919 - November 7, 2016
Our Mom “Kath” passed away peacefully on November 7th, 2016 at the age of 96. She is happily reunited with her husband Alan, which has been her long standing desire.
Kath was born near Rochester, Kent, England. She had a desire to be a teacher of languages, which was interrupted by the Second World War. During the war living in London, Mom was a Dictaphone Operator during the day, and in the evening a Rooftop Firefighter. She would marry the love of her life Alan in 1941, and in February of the same year immigrate to Canada. Arriving in Halifax she boarded a train which took her to Calgary where she would meet her in-laws. All the while Alan served in the RCAF until 1943 when he was shipped back to Canada to be an instructor. Both Mom and Dad had a most involved and long standing relationship with St. Mary Anglican Church of Oak Bay, where they were both choir members.
Kath is survived by her sons Tom (Anna) and Bob (Robin); grandchildren: Lawrence, Vanessa, Katrina, Johnathan; and a great-granddaughter Anastasia.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff at the James Bay Care Centre.
