<div itemprop="description">It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shelagh on January 23, 2017. <br> <br>She will be missed and lovingly remembered by Bernard her husband of 63 years; her children Simon (Patti), Jane (Doug), Amanda (Craig) and Kate; her grandchildren Kristen (Mike), Matthew, Harrison, Jessica, Adam and Olivia; great-grandchild Weston; her sisters Jill, Susan and Sarah (Eric); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. <br> <br>She was predeceased by her son Nigel in 1981. <br> <br>Shelagh was born at Victoria Nursing Home in Leyland, Lancashire, England to Hester and Fred O'Donnell. She emigrated to Calgary in 1965 with Bernard and three small children. After many happy years in Calgary, and two more children, Bernard and Shelagh moved to Victoria in 2014. <br> <br>Shelagh was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandma (nana) and great grandma. She loved to spend time with family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and was an avid book club member. In later life she became a dedicated volunteer. She spent many hours volunteering in the gift shop at the Rockyview Hospital; with the Friends of Fish Creek Park; and as an ecumenical minister for St Bonaventure Church. <br> <br>Family would like to thank everyone at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria for the loving care she received. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. <br> <br>Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 12 noon.</div>
