Peter passed away peacefully on March 7th in Victoria, BC. Born in Hong Kong just prior to the outbreak of World War 2, Peter’s family moved to Canada and settled in West Vancouver where Peter was raised. After graduation, he began a successful career in radio broadcasting with a move to Winnipeg in the 1960s, elevating his profile in the early days of rock and roll as one of the more prominent disc jockeys, known near and far as PJ the DJ.

He returned to Vancouver in the late ‘60s, settling in Deep Cove in North Vancouver. Peter and a partner started a broadcasting school that operated until the early ‘70s when Peter, having tired of the broadcasting business, began a successful career in real estate. Peter loved travel, cars, meeting people and driving, and managed to incorporate all four into his wanderings. He also fell in love with Mexico and spent many winters in Todos Santos on the Baja and later in San Jose Del Cabo. His travels took him to many places around the world and, wherever he went, Peter made friends. He had a love of life and a sly sense of humour. He was often the life and soul of dinner parties where he entertained those present with tongue-in-cheek tall tales and true life stories.

Peter is survived by his wife Jiehua Morrow, her son Ben, Peter’s son Peter Jr. and spouse, Darlene. He is predeceased by his previous wife Nori, his father Thomas Edward Jackson, his mother Mary Ellen Jackson, and his brother Kenneth John Jackson.

He is fondly remembered by the Cooper family, the Trigg family, brother-in-law Gerry Webb and many friends, too numerous to mention, who have been fortunate enough to have been embraced by Peter’s joie de vivre and his generous and forgiving persona. There is no service by request. A celebration of life is to be held at the University of Victoria Interfaith Chapel on Sunday, May 28th from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM at Parking Lot # 6, off Ring Road, 3800 Finnery Road, Victoria,
