Martial Agueh
June 30, 1969 - September 14, 2016
Dr. Martial Marie-Paul Agueh, an outstanding mathematician, died on Tuesday, September 14, 2016 at Victoria Hospice, after a period of illness.
Martial was born on June 30, 1969 to Pascal Agueh and Anne-Marie Koukouia, both from Porto-Novo, Benin.
Martial was a life-long Catholic. He devoted much of his time and energy to helping others. He enjoyed music, dancing, playing soccer, and wonderful time spent with his family and friends.
He worked as a post-doctorate fellow at the University of British Columbia, Carnegie Melon University, and as a full professor at the University of Victoria in the Mathematics and Statistics department. He was admired by his students, colleagues, friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Kade Anna Hardy Agueh; his two children Anne-Louise and Jean-Marc Agueh; his siblings, Urbain, Lydia (Joel), Regina and Beattie (Guy); his mother-in-law, Anna Dixon Hardy; cousins; relatives and friends.
