August 8, 1947 – February 19 2017

Lise passed away peacefully at Mount St. Mary's on February 19, 2017, at the age of 69, following a courageous, hard-fought battle with lung disease. She was born in Disraeli, Quebec, the second of five siblings, and for the past 27 years has made her home on Galiano Island and in Victoria.

Lise worked as a therapist for many years and gave her heart and soul to all that sought her help. She found peace in walking and swimming in the ocean, gardening and taking care of her animals. She will be remembered for her kindness, her warmth, and her sense of humour.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter Karine Bordua and her family; her partner of 30 years Joaquin Sousa-Poza; his child Julian Sousa and his family; her siblings Giles, Diane, Claude and Jean Jolicoeur and her sisters-in-law Lisette, Louisette and Carmen; numerous nieces and nephews; and many cherished friends.

The family would like to especially thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Galiano Island Health Clinic and Mount St. Mary’s Hospital. Those wishing to remember Lise are encouraged to light a candle, walk a dog on the beach, go to the forest or dig in your garden.

Memorial donations to any animal rescue organization of your choice will also be welcome.

A private family celebration of Lise's life will be held this summer in Quebec.
